Sheep tallow is rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, which are vital for maintaining healthy skin. These nutrients help to nourish, moisturise, and protect the skin, leaving it soft, supple, and glowing. The similarity of tallow's fatty acid profile to that of human skin makes it an excellent emollient, ensuring effective absorption and hydration. We only use Klein Karoo free-range lamb fat to produce our tallow. The sheep roam free, and receive no routine antibiotics or any hormones. ​ (It also feels incredible on the skin.)

All our ingredients are carefully sourced, 100% natural with no added preservatives. ​ We use cold pressed Olive Oil and hexane-free Caster oil. ​ Our body balms (except DIE KERN) has 1.5% essential oils ​ Our healing balm (GENESENDE BALSEM) has 2% essential oils

The shelf life of our products is 12 months. To extend the shelf life, it can be stored in the fridge. ​ It is normal for the product to soften in hot weather and harden when it's cold. Warm a bit of balm between your hands before applying. A little goes a long way.

For individuals prone to allergic reactions, we recommend starting with our Die Kern body balm, which is formulated without essential oils to provide the natural benefits of tallow without the risk of irritation. Additionally, our Genesende Balsem (healing balm) has been found to offer relief for some people with eczema. However, as eczema is a complex and variable condition, the effectiveness of it may vary from person to person. We always recommend performing a patch test before full application to ensure compatibility with your skin.

A: Yes, our bodyrange products are safe for babies over six months. All our products are free from artificial parabens, artificial fragrances and harmful chemicals and are 100% natural. Specifically, our body balms are perfect for toddlers and children, making them an ideal choice for parents looking for gentle, effective care products especially in the colder months, for the whole family. Should a family member have very sensitive skin we suggest starting with Die Kern lyfsalf. Our baby bum cream contains only 0.5% essential oils and can be used on newborns.
